PROJECT SUMMARY
Single Storey New Build Co-Op Local store
Melhuish & Saunders Ltd was appointed by Westcoast Developments to deliver the new build shell construction of a Co-op Local convenience store at Frampton Cotterell.
The project involved the construction of a purpose-built retail unit, creating a modern commercial space ready for the tenant's internal fit-out. Delivered to a high standard, the development provides a robust and energy-efficient building that will serve the local community for many years to come.

CREATING A MODERN RETAIL ENVIRONMENT
Although delivered as a shell building, the project was designed to provide the ideal foundation for the tenant's internal fit-out.
High-quality aluminium entrance doors and glazing were installed to create an inviting customer entrance, while security shutters, steel service doors and dedicated plant room access provide security and practical access for the completed store.
Internally, blockwork walls and plasterboard ceilings were prepared and finished ready for the Co-op's bespoke retail installation.
INFRASTRUCTURE & SITE WORKS
A significant element of the project involved the installation of the infrastructure required to support the new development.
Storm Drainage Systems
New storm drainage systems were installed, incorporating an attenuation tank and pumping station, while foul drainage was connected to the existing mains network.
External Works
External works included the construction of new tarmac footpaths, customer parking facilities, designated loading areas and new boundary fencing.
Existing natural stone perimeter walls were carefully repaired and incorporated into the completed development, helping preserve the character of the site.
