Melhuish & Saunders sponsor Golf Day
Melhuish & Saunders Ltd sponsored the 4 Ball Better Ball (4BBB) Open at Wells Golf Club on Saturday 9th July.
Thirty-nine teams from across the south-west entered the competition, with each team comprising four players.
Following the success of the day, Melhuish & Saunders and Wells Golf Club are hoping that this becomes an annual event.

Melhuish & Saunders win award at LABC Building Excellence Awards 2011
The work of Glastonbury based building contractor, Melhuish & Saunders Limited was recognised last Friday evening at the LABC South-West Regional Building Excellence Awards 2011, held at the Imperial Hotel, Torquay.
Melhuish & Saunders, established in 1923, won the Chairman's Award for Somerset Earth Science Centre, a low carbon study centre built on the edge of an existing lake at Moons Hill Quarry, Stoke St. Michael, owned by John Wainwright & Co Limited.
The construction of Somerset Earth Science Centre saw Melhuish & Saunders working alongside Mark Kingsley Architects of Bath and structural engineers Ramboll Whitbybird.
The building, which was officially opened by HRH The Princess Royal in July 2009, incorporates features such as a Sedum roof, wind turbine and an underground heat source pump.
For the same development Melhuish & Saunders were awarded a Commendation in the 'Best Sustainable Development' category.
The company were also finalists in the categories 'Best Education Development' and 'Best Large Commercial Development' for Somerset Earth Science Centre and Landmark House, Glastonbury, respectively.
The construction of Landmark House at Wirral Park, Glastonbury saw Melhuish & Saunders in partnership with GJR Architects of Honiton. The development comprises a two storey office block with ten office units, car parking and associated landscaping. The development now houses Melhuish & Saunders Limited head office in two if its units.
Melhuish & Saunders Ltd were put forward for the Building Excellence Awards after winning an award at the Mendip District Council Built in Quality Awards in March this year.
The Building Excellence Awards recognise the high standards of design, construction and workmanship.
Following their success in the Regional Awards, Melhuish & Saunders will be put forward for the National Awards, due to be held in London on 1st November 2011.

Somerset FA Cup Finals
On Thursday 10th May 2011, the Somerset FA Mens Cup final was held at Street Football club between Freshford United and Middlezoy Rovers.
Melhuish & Saunders Ltd are pleased to have been the main sponsor for this competion and congratulate Freshford United in winning the Junior Cup Final 2010 / 2011.
That same week, on May 13th, Street Football Club also hosted the Senior Cup Final between Nailsea United and Watchet Town.
Once again, Melhuish & Saunders Ltd were the main sponsor and congratulate Watchet Town in winning the Senior Cup Final 2010 / 2011.
Melhuish & Saunders Ltd Managing Director, John Mitchard, presented the winning teams with their trophies.
Melhuish & Saunders Win New Contract
Melhuish & Saunders were recently awarded a £1.7 million contract for construction of new conference / training facilities and swimming pool at The Lighthouse healing centre in Tytherington, near Frome.
The Lighthouse is set in some 30 acres of historic parkland; the existing country house is Grade II listed.
Two existing barns will be demolished to make way for the new facility, which comprises three distinct but interlinked elements, namely a central two storey conference / dining building and to either side, a single storey treatment / accommodation block and a swimming pool, respectively, together with associated landscaping.
This Design & Build contract sees Melhuish and Saunders working with architect, Adam Brill, of AB Architectural Design in Frome and structural engineer, Neil Lancaster of Mann Williams in Bath.
King Shaw Associates, based at Priston Mill near Bath are the appointed M&E Consultants.
This is the third contract in excess of £1 million that Melhuish & Saunders Ltd have won this year.
