Description of Works
The Construction of the New split 3 storey boarding house for Downside School.The building is constructed of a steel frame construction which is built off of a pad foundations and ground ring beams. The ground floor was constructed of a block & beam construction with all the upper floor being constructed of a concrete rib decking. The superstructure on the ground floor is blockwork with an external stone face. The upper floors external walls are of a metsec system which is externally clad with insulation and coloured render, the internal walls is constructed of blockwork on all floors. The building will house 60 pupils and has 2no common rooms, kitchenettes, 8no bathrooms, platform lift, laundry room, a 3 bedroom house mistressess house and a 2 bedroom House mistress flat.
