Description of works
The project comprised construction of a new three storey Girls' Boarding House for St. Mary's School, Calne.The Building is a steelframed construction, built off piled foundations, with groundbeams connections. The groundfloor is comprises block & beam flooring, while the upper two floors areconstructed of pre-cast concrete planks.
The superstructure of the building is an airtight Metsec cladding system with aluminium windows & doors.
The building houses approximately fifty girls and includes bedrooms, a kitchen, linen rooms, bathrooms, common rooms and Housemistress accomodation.
